2009, pinhole photography, artist book
The pretext for this series of photographs is the mismatch between the information presented by official TV news shows and the public's views and attitude (this gap is especially evident in the online news websites' comments). The huge amount of information transferred via today's communication channels usually discourages the consistent comprehension, classification and evaluation of a particular bit of information, while the part of it that remains stored by the memory goes on to create an individual and specific image of the world.
A particular news broadcast of a certain TV channel is captured by a pinhole camera from the beginning to the end. The work's technical process takes the form of a transformation of a public medium (television, which is, at the same time, a symbol of the new media) into a private diary (an authored book, the classical means of information transfer).
